Review:
The second installment of this graphic novel tells us the continuation of Alana, Marko, and Hazel's story as they are still on the run aboard their rocket-ship. Also the story of The Will as he met Gwendolyn—Marko's ex-fiancée who then join him hunt down Marko after saving the Slave Girl from Sextillion. The Slave Girl, to my surprise has a secret power to sense the presence of someone through a certain item, so she sensed Marko through a ring on Gwendolyn's necklace.
In this graphic novel we also get to see the appearance of Marko's parents. Meanwhile the main hunter of our protagonists, Prince Robot IV went to Quietus in search of D. Oswald Heist—the author who wrote Alana's favorite book.
Some people are haunted by their pasts, but not my family. I mean, how can you be haunted by something that never really dies?
Another great volume of Saga, unfortunately for me this second volume didn't live up to the awesomeness that is the first volume of Saga. In this second volume of Saga the story goes deeper as we got to know a little more background of Marko's family and the start of his relationship with Alana. The artwork was fantastic as always. I had an LOL moment in this volume. So when Marko and his mother traveled to another planet to save Hazel's guardian—the ghost girl, they were blocked by this giant monster who has "a huge dangling balls" and I mean literally which was kind of gross now that you think about it but it is also quite funny. Praise the creativity of the creators.
Never worry what other people think of you, because no one ever thinks of you.
We get to see a few new characters as well, namely Marko's mother and father also we get to meet Gwendolyn. Marko's mother and father for me their personalities are kind of reversed. What I meant by that is Marko's mother is a very aggressive woman, and quite temperamental meanwhile Marko's father is kind of the passive one. Quite unheard of right? For me anyways. Also Gwendolyn, I really like the fact that she's a strong woman, she's fierce, and badass in her own ways but at times she can be very offensive.
Overall, still a good continuation of the story because we didn't just get to see the continuation of our protagonists' story we also got to see a few teeny-tiny bit of history/background of some of our character. Excited to read the next volume!
